Is anyone else beside themselves with excitement now that True Blood's fourth season has started? This past week's episode was particularly compelling, with some great flashbacks into Bill's past as well as a peek into his newly renovated Southern mansion. I'm dying to get my hands on more photos of the house, but I am happy to bring you this shot from Bill's office.
This dark, brooding office is the perfect hideaway for the newly crowned King of Louisiana. To get the look, start by layering a brown glasscloth on the walls to darken the room and add texture. Try the Graham and Brown Grasscloth Wallpaper in Brown ($70 per double roll).
One major eyecatching element in the room is the antique elephant statue - I wonder if we'll get a flashback explaining its origins in an upcoming episode. To find a similar one, search on eBay for terms such as "Asian elephant" or "wooden elephant statue." I love this Handpainted Wooden Carved Elephant ($99, buy-it-now price), which would add an element of world travel to a more subdued, masculine office space.
Bill has also added many books to his office, including a coffeetable book open to a skeleton of a dog - macabre, yes, but perfect for a vampire king. Look for similar books in your local bookstore's photography or anatomy sections. I also suggest Evolution ($150) by Jean-Baptiste De Panafieu.
In one corner of the office, BIll has hung a landscape scene that looks strikingly similar to the cemetery he and Sookie have spent much time in. Etsy has plenty of art that offers a similar look, including Light on the Path $100) by Judith Anderson. He's also added a Constellation Globe ($120) to his desk; again, I have to wonder if this is foreshadowing a future plot line or simply a clever prop.
